DHAL AND RICE

1 chopped onion, cook until translucent
Add: 1 tsp each ground cumin, garam masala, minced garlic and ginger
½ tsp each tumeric and coriander
2 tbsp fish sauce
1 ½ cups of rinsed red lentils
2 ½ cups water
Bring to boil then reduce heat and simmer for approx.15 minutes.
Add: 1 can red kidney beans
1 can brown lentils
Warm through
Serve with rice

Another variety, add 500g of diced pumpkin and a little extra water at the beginning to make Pumpkin Dhal.
